A list of commands is available by pressing '?' while in game. There is an additional help page available from the configurator. It provides an introduction to bot configuration and describes the different types of devices.

The game is, especially at the beginning, extremely tactical. Your enemies may be as powerful as you are, but they do not change their configurations. Use that to your advantage!

There are very different types of enemies. Try to learn their abilities, and adjust accordingly!

If your structure points get low, try to run away while having a repair unit equipped.

The name that you enter at the beginning of the game is used for the filenames of save games and character dumps. So, if you save the game and want to restore it later, restart Hive Awakening and enter the same game name as the last time. Similarly, if you die or win the game, a character dump is created. The name of this file consists of the game name plus the extension .log.
